Misdiagnosis of Epilepsy

Sat, 03/18/2006 - 23:15
This article concerns the sometimes misdiagnosis of epilepsy, when in fact it is a form of heart disease. If you have fainting and normal EEG's, take a look. a href="http://heartdisease.about.com/b/a/156294.htm">http://heartdisease.about.com/b/a/156294.htm -Spiz

Lisa, No, I'm afraid I still have TLE. But I Now have high blood pressure and the stress test and UCT (Utrafast Computerized Tomography) both came back showing heart disease. I have an appointment the 22nd with a cardiologist. I found that article while trying to find information regarding the treatment of heart disease, blood pressure and the possible effects on epilepsy and AED's. So far I have found zilch on any info. Heart failure and heart attacks run on my dad's side. Heart failure and stroke run on my mom's side. I have T/C's even with medication. My doctor put me on Altace for the high blood pressure and Nitro for chest pain. I'm staying light headed and dizzy and can't do anything without my heart feeling like a rock in my chest. This all has me scared. I know if I'd relax a little it would probably help tremendously, but it's hard to. I'm worried about how they are going to treat the BP and heart without it affecting my AED's. And will my T/C's and AED's make it harder on my heart? I'm a bundle of nerves right now. I would feel better if I could have information...good or bad. I just need to know what to expect. -Spiz
