Here i am again

Wed, 12/25/2019 - 21:00
Our 28 year old son is considered stable since his seizures are only every few months to 2 years or so. Just enough to create havoc since he lives and works 4 hours away. It happened again this week after two years, while he was hone for the holidays. He’s fine and even seems to accept the hassles due to no driving for six months- although he may be putting on a good front. It’s me that’s not fine. I feel so depressed. It doesn’t help that I am now trying to deal with elderly parents and will now have to do day long trips at least monthly to help him. Plus still work full time: Don’t mind me- just venting.

We live in a very similar

We live in a very similar world...our 30+ year old son experiences seizures a couple of times a year and lives & works in NYC, far from our home. Like you, it is also me that is upset or remains upset after he seems to get back on with his life (which is a blessing, though I wonder if he is genuinely psych/emotionally recovered). My fears are permanent injury, his fears are professional employment security. I wish i could get him to see a therapist, but that sadly seems to fall on deaf ears.
