Does this sound like seizures ?

Hi All, Our son is 2.5 yrs old. He has always been good with cognition and speech. His vocabulary has always been good. During his birth process he was under stress for sometime and then vac cum suction was used to pull him out. Few months back he started speech issues with stuttering. He bounced back & forth few times. All of sudden from last 1 week he is showing extreme behavioral issues - not ready to sit even for few seconds, jumping every few secs and throwing himself here & there. He always used to sit still for even good 1-2 hrs - reading books, feeds etc but not anymore. Even when he is sitting, he is fidgeting etc. But we never saw him staring or loosing consciousness. His doctor wrote EEG but he is not cooperating. - Are there any reliable seizures signs which toddlers show and can sudden behavior correlates ? Thanks

It sounds like something is wrong but jumping to seizures is premature. Behavior issues could be related to pain/infection or so so many other issues that you need to work through the pediatrician first to narrow things down. While you might end up working with a neurologist, it may not be for seizures. There are some very different areas neurologists might focus on and if things are narrowed down to seizures, you’ll want to work with people associated with an epilepsy center - an epileptologist is a neurologist who specializes in seizures and has extra training in that area.If things are weird, you’ll want a well regarded children’s hospital no matter what. Many people use the US News and World Report rankings to see which hospitals near by are well ranked.
