hi all, it has been awhile. i am trying to help my son and everthing his dr tries doesn't work. time for a second opinion? my son never wants to talk about his seizures, so it is really hard to tell what is going on. he is rarely happy, always stays to himself. i know something is not right, i just can't put my finger on it. his last eeg showed no significant improvement and all of his seizures are not seen clinically. i can tell sometimes, but he says always i'm fine. any suggestions? thanx cindy

Hi Cindy, I'm not sure what type of doctor you are seeing, but if you haven't done so yet, I would suggest getting an appointment with an epileptologist (a neuro who specializes in epilepsy). It has made a world of difference in managing my seizures. James Polaro Hey cindy my name is jim and I have had epilepsy for 16 years. I have gone to the same doctor all these years. I was having up to 20 seizures a day. The kind of doctor you need for your son is neurologist. Speacializes in epilipsy. I have been on depakote for the last 16 years. I also suffer from depression and currently take medication for that to and see a therapist. The worst thing your son can do is not talk to you about it. Trust me I have been there. If you would like to chat more about this email me directly maybe I can help. jpolaro@mail.nysed.gov God bless you and your son.
