13 month old...what's going on?

Fri, 08/04/2006 - 08:44
I'm started to get very scared. At first I thought it was going to all go away but now I just don't know.It started when he was 4 months old,the same day as his second round of shots. He had a seizure that night. The Dr.s had no explanation for us.Allof the tests they ran were fine. They said it was a fluke,a one time event.2 months later another seizure.he was diagnosed with epilepsy, still with clean EEg's.they put him on phenobarbitol.2 months later... another. His phen. levels were fine. Two weeks later another, then a week, then three weeks, then he almost went a whole month.then he had a huge one. Some seizures are bigger than others. The Diastat seems to stop them within 5 minutes without a second dose.I don't think they would stop on thier own.He has had 45 min. seizure once before. There was an event when he woke up crying in the morning, not able to move, limp like he had an extended seizure overnight. He used to do these dizzy-like twitches right before he would have a seizure,so I felt like I could predict them. But now he does them every day,he doesn't go an hour without doing it at least once.We just went to Boston children's this week for another EEg...I'm calling today to see if I can get results. But the tech.who did the test said it wasn't horrible..."But I'll tell you right now it definately wasn't normal".My brain hasn't stopped since then.It is like he is getting worse.I have been comparing his sympyoms to different types of epilepsy on this site and I have to say that it is kind of depressing me.Any insite?I have such a happy little boy who just isn't right and he knows it...I know he does.Sometimes I wish he could talk to let me know what he is feeling.
