Semi-decent sobstory :P

Hi all, my names Matt and im 26 in 3 days ^.^ Untill the age of 24, i was in relatively good health working behind the counter at a local petrol station. Customer walks in to pay for fuel and purchase tobacco, turn around to retrieve tobacco from our display and bang my elbow, right on the funny bone too! Dang. Turn back around and wake up on the floor, covered in sweat- exhausted with a mouth full of blood! Well, after getting taken to the hospital and having a repeat of the incident when they try sticking a needle in i'm kept overnight! Get an MRI and sent home :) Since then, i've had seizures every time i am dealt any sort of surprise pain. Examples of recent seizures: -Banged shin on way out of kitchen -Banged knee while making coffee -Sat down with my friends and banged my elbow on a desk -Had a headache -stubbed toe getting out of shower Over the past 2 years, there are many other triggers i've inadvertantly discovered- and have gotten used to the feeling beforehand, the best description i can give is my body will start to tighten up, a huge amount of tinitus and my vision will zoom out. This will happen over 2-10 seconds, which nowadays gives me enough time to make sure im lying down! Unfortunatly, i have no real family that i speak to and after the first few times of having a seizure in public i've taken to limiting leaving my flat unless absoloutly neccessary for the survival of me or my living chinese takeaway (cat). Been waiting over a year for a response from Canterbury epilepsy team... saw my doctors last week and got told again to be patient xD Thanks for taking the time to read, whoever bothers taking the time to read and i hope you and those you care about are in much better health!! ^.^

Yes, being startled can send you to have one, but that can be easily controlled with medication. Sorry that your doctors visit is taking so long.

Hang in there. I know the being-a --hermit thing. Keep exercising. Don't let your spirit shrink. It's OK. You're not alone.
