Is this a nocturnal seizure?

Mon, 01/08/2018 - 13:50
So last night I woke up to an electric feeling in my body and a ringing in my head and ears, as well as convulsions. I passed out directly after, and I guess my boyfriend woke up from it because I was making some sort of noise. Aside from this, my tongue is sore, but not bleeding or anything. I've had instances like this before, that happened in the middle of the night, and one that happened when awake. The one that happened when I was awake the doctors call vasovagal syncope, although the friend that was with me when it happened said I was convulsing, foaming at the mouth, and my eyes were doing some weird stuff. I'm going to see my doctor soon about this, but I'm wondering if I could get any insight from anyone here?

Yes they sound like nocturnal epilepsy and if you had one during the day and your friend said what you posted it means you can have seizures during the day too. The doctors may be wrong. Especially if they do not understand that Syncope can LOOK LIKE a seizure. You need to be referred to a neurologist that specializes in epilepsy and if you can take your friend that saw it with you. Questions will be asked and one that I was asked several time was "did anybody see it".Hope you get the assistance you needJoe
