was driving to work. I came up to the traffic lights I took a seizure the car went into the barrier someone foned for the ambulance and the police arrived aswell I was very confused and didn't know what was happening when I started to come round. The ambulance service got me out of the car and asked me questions like what day it was I didn't respond and got me into the ambulance.they took me to the hospital a/e they done blood tests and checked my heart. there wasn't any other cars involved in the accident I was monitored for 6 hours and afterwards was allowed to go home The next day I received a telephone call from the police to say that they have been in touch with DVLA and they wanted me to surrender my licence which I did The question I want to know is how long do they keep ur licence for can anyone help.

Looks like you are more worried about your driving then a possible seizure disorder or wondering why you had the seizure.department of motor vehicles is what we have in th sattes and yes they revoke a persons drivers license if a person has a seizure while driving. Thy have laws to protect people; Regulations written in those laws are what is used to revoke your license. In most states people need to go 6 months before they can get their liocense back, But they must also have the paperwork from their neurologist showing that and that paperwork goes thru channels without you seeing it or touching it. The tests done by the ambulance workers are general tests which is blood pressure and blood tests. If they did an EEG and prescribed meds then you need to take them and follow the doctors orders. Tests for epilepsy are generally the EEG and an MRI. Those are generally done by a neurologist.
