First Seizure at 52

Mon, 05/28/2018 - 07:06
Hi everyone! I had a siezure for the first time 4 weeks ago. It was a fairly typical Tonic Clonic that started at 2am whilst asleep and of course was a shock for my wife who couldn't get me to come to and ended up calling an ambulance. Since then I've had my license suspended and had a number of tests. Nothing found on the CT or MRI (so that's good!) and today I had the EEG - won't get a result for a couple of weeks. I'm actually healthier than I've been in a while and only slightly overweight (male 52 year old). So the obvious question is why and I guess what every newcomer here asks! I've lost around 10 pounds in 6 weeks and have been pretty seious about watching my calory intake - could that be it? When it happened and I was in hospital my blood sugar registered normal. Today I had a bad toothache due to a cracked molar that I've had for years. Could an infection have something to do with it? Or is this fairly typcial for a late onset epilepsy and if it is, does that mean it is likely to happen again? Sorry if these have been answered before! No doubt when I finally get to see a neurologist he would have some of these answers for me.
