Dating a guy with epilepsy

Wed, 02/21/2018 - 17:25
Hi everyone! I just joined the group and looking to get some answers and help/advice. I recently started dating a guy, he's well educated, lovely, charming and honestly a catch! He told me after a few weeks of dating he has epilepsy. I know nothing about it, since then I just googled and did some research to get answers. I wanna ask him all the questions I have, what he can/can not do or eat/drink and side effects and... so I can have a better understanding. But he doesn't seem to be chatty about it and I want to give him some space until he wants to share himself. My issue is we have had sex and he seems to have a high sex drive he easily gets erections but he can't keep it. I've read its a side effect of the anti epileptic medication? is that it and if so what can be done? Or is it gonna always be like that? Thanks for your help and support!

Hello! First off , I would like to say how happy I am for you and him that you guys have found each other. As a 26 year old male with a bachelors in Nursing, I am not as lucky, not yet anyway. I’ve experienced similar issues with my past girlfriends , the insane sex drive and there was a time where I had difficulty getting an erection, however after a minor medication tweak , meaning different meds, it all went back to normal although the insane sex drive still stayed so that’s a good thing I guess. Now, realize that any seizure medicine will have side effects whether it’s physical mental or otherwise. Ask yourself can I be with  this person despite that? Can I live with these side effects ? Does this person mean a lot to me? I personally hope he does he sounds like an good dude, and you sound like a nice girl, I hope you guys hit it off.Ps. There are other ways to have sex .
