vimpat

I remember "coming to" in the ambulance. This happened in May and the 31st of last month. The Dr. put me on Vimpat as the neurologist I am going to see has suggested. Mainly because of my psychiatric history. Does this mean he knows it's seizures? I will not get a Dx before the 14th of Oct. When I see his assistant. Some of the people in the neighborhood told me I was laying in someone's driveway and the EMTs waited for an hour before they took me to the hospital. I was there for 4 days. I must've told them I bit my tongue it did hurt. I don't remember any of this. I hope Vimpat is good anyone else take it?

Hi Billc, Thanks, we understand this must have been very scary and confusing to experience. We cannot determine if neurologist knows you’ve had seizures, or not. Treatment varies for each individual, so it’s very important that you continue to follow-up with your healthcare team to determine what individual treatment plan is best for you, as well as, any changes in moods, behaviors, sides effects & symptoms. https://www.epilepsy.com/sites/core/files/atoms/files/pg2L_HealthCareVisits_09-2018.pdfFor assistance & information regarding finding a specialist, or a second opinion please visit:https://www.epilepsy.com/learn/diagnosis/you-and-your-healthcare-team/second-opinions https://www.epilepsy.com/living-epilepsy/find-epilepsy-specialist  Our new to Epilepsy & Seizure tool kit is a great resource and starting point for learning about what epilepsy is, what resources are available, how to make the most of doctors' visits, and how to take control of seizures.Learn more here: https://www.epilepsy.com/living-epilepsy/toolbox/new-seizures-and-epilepsySeizures can take on many different forms and affect different people in different ways. I took Vimpat for a short

I took Vimpat for a short period of time until I had to switch neurologists and I never had any problems with it. As with every anti epileptic medication that I’ve ever tried though I would say that it’s all based on what works best for you, there’s not one that’s necessarily so much better than another. I’m on Topamax 200mg bid now because it helps with both migraines and seizures and it doesn’t give me any side effects whereas a lot of other medications do. I may be adding Vimpat soon too. Best wishes for your follow up appointment next month!
