Topamax Vs. Generic

Hello all. I recently went to get my medicine I am on topamax and Lamictal both brand name. They said the topamax is on back order they had to give me generic. I have been taking it for a week and it has been working ok. There are some slight headaches but nothing I cant handle. It seems my blood pressure went down. They informed me that month to month the medicine could change and it could be noticeable or not. My insurance company has it in as i can only take brand name before I change that I was wondering has anyone here taken it with success? Is the difference big? Thank you

i took topamax when i was first diagnosed at 11 it didn't help me much and the side effects were horrible so my parents wanted me off of it, b/c it can cause intense headaches, kidney problems and infertility. im on a combination of keppra and vimpat and haven't had a seizure in 1 yr and 4 months tomorrow!

I have always had issues with my medications and never finding the right ones that would work to stop the break through seizures that I just kept having. The longest I had been was a year at most seizure free and it would start the cycle again having then. Since I started Topiramate I have been fine. My doctor even took me off of Keppra and now is even considering trying to get me off of my Lamotrigine the generic of Lamictal after getting a test.
