phenobarbitals in seizure control
Wed, 05/01/2019 - 11:40Topic: Medication Issues
I have been using phenobarbital 81 mg bid and Tegretol 500 mg bid for over 40 years.
Anyone else still using this combo ? Up until recently, the side affects have been tolerable, however after it has been a number of years like this, you don’t even realize the side affects are coming from Meds.
It has been working quite well for me in controlling seizures, however recently like the past month or so, I start my day with the first couple of hrs being dizzy , balance issues, and cognitive disabilities , though the cognitive has been here for many years and I thought it was just Normal ?
Hi newdhw, Thank you for

Hi newdhw, Thank you for sharing you’re experience. We encourage you to follow-up with your doctor to communicate what you’re feeling and any potential changes in side effects, symptoms, behaviors, or seizure types. My Seizure Diary, https://www.epilepsy.com/living-epilepsy/epilepsy-foundation-my-seizure-diary is a good resource for not only tracking seizures, but other symptoms you may be experiencing, which may be helpful when talking with your doctors.
