Lamictal/Vimpat combo

Wed, 01/01/2020 - 15:38
Has anyone out there used the vimpat/lamictal combo for tonic-clonic seizures? I’ve had seizures intermittently for 10 years with different combos used, but 3 severe ones this past year which required hospitalization. My doctor recently put me on the combo of lamictal/vimpat and I was wondering if anyone had any positive experiences for grand-mals regarding this combo.

Apologies in advance if I’m

Submitted by Jim Clayton on Tue, 2020-01-14 - 00:37
Apologies in advance if I’m posting this incorrectly..,first time on here. I started on Depakote. Then went to Keppra. Then to Lamictal. And now I’m on Felbamate and Zonisamide. Prefacing this story by letting you know that this was MY EXPERIENCE and the results may be different with you. Lamictal worked amazing for me for two solid weeks. It looked like I was seizure free. Then it was almost like a slingshot that had been building up. I had the worst seizure I’ve ever had. I put my face thru a bathroom wall and ended up in the hospital. Basically I’m allergic to it. The results with Lamictal or any medication are going to be the same. It’s going to suck. There are going to be side effects. Some good. Some bad. You just need a doctor that is introducing it into your system slowly so that if there are any drastic negative effects you can find out gradually and not have it hit you like a truck. Good luck.
