Insurance requires medication change

Mon, 04/29/2019 - 14:11
Just received notice that my insurance will no longer provide Keppra by Solco. I have tried two other medications by other manufacturers and have had serious side effects with both ( hives and inability to break down medication). Has anyone else had these issues with medication? Resolutions?

Talk to your doctor about

Talk to your doctor about getting samples.  It's a hassle but they always have them. I don't know if it would make a difference on the insurance side or not, but (in the days when prescriptions were on paper) my doctor always put DAW which stand for Dispense As Written.  I think this was just so the pharmacy would not make any substitutions, but maybe if the prescription ordered the brand name the insurance would cover. Mike
