Actually good assistance to help pay for medication?

Tue, 01/28/2020 - 13:28
To start I was diagnosed with medial temporal lobe epilepsy (complex partial seizures) at age 20 in 2015. At that point I was granted Medicare/Medicaid and had prescription coverage. Eventually it was determined my case was medication resistant and we had to start looking into surgery options. However, fast forward to 3 weeks ago I had a right hippocampal laser ablation and haven't a seizure since. It's been years since I've gone that long without one, so that is GREAT. However, I am required to stay on my same medication for 6 months to a year. On top of the facts that I am getting married, moving, and will probably be able to start working again, and if I stay seizure free they may determine I am no longer "disabled" and I will lose ALL my benefits. My medication (Fycompa/Perampanel 12mg) without coverage is $1132 for ONE months worth (partially because there is currently no legit generic version). Looking at discount sites the cheapest I can find it is $968. My fiancé is in college doing a work study job and is making like $300 a month. Any kind of job I'll be able to get is not guaranteed to be highly lucrative. Does anyone know of any good assistance programs/discount cards/etc. that can help make it so I don't end up reaching a horrible scenario of not being able to afford my seizure medication? I've searched all over but have only made myself more stressed. Thanks for any help
