Hello Hannah,Sorry to hear

Hello Hannah,Sorry to hear about your issues. I myself have most of my issues at night, however I'm lucky enough to be married so if something big does happen I have her there to let me know what's up when I finally come out of it. As for that EVIL deja vu I've been having it for years and it was around way before I ever had my first grand mal. I know EXACTLY what you mean when you say that it can go from a "nice anticipatory feeling of Christmas" then to frightening feelings. Mine usually starts out kind of nice and almost feels like it's luring me in wanting me to keep focused on the memory, or deja vu feeling, but then the longer that I do so the worst that it gets. Of course eventually I can't get back out and that's when I end up feeling really crappy and start getting the super chills. I'll also get those brain zaps that you speak of and for me those are something that's really just shown up in the last 4 or 5 years. I'd love to tell you that there's some secret way to get the deja vu to stop but sadly enough I haven't found anything that works. I'll think sometimes that I finally have it licked because I won't have an episode for almost two months but then bam I'll hit another bad period where I keep having issues over and over again. Yeah I'm in one of those right now and that's why I'm back here. My doctor has me on 500 MG's of Divalproex Sodium Er, whatever that is, but his biggest concern always seems to be keeping away the big Grand Mals. Hey can you blame him? lol I have seen in another thread were someone talks about she was having similar issues and it ended up being low Magnesium levels. This got me really exited to try so I went out looking for every natural food I could get my hands on that was high in magnesium and I can't really see where they've done much of anything, however I didn't try an actual supplement so that might be my next stop. Good luck with it and you can bet you butt if I ever find anything that works for me I'll make sure to post all about it over here. :)
Right, I guess that solves

Right, I guess that solves that mystery! Here is the original message:So some weeks ago (I'm having difficulty remembering exactly) my doc switched me from Tegratol to Oxcarbazepine because the Tegratol was affecting my memory. I've gradually been weaned off one and on to the other, a process which took only about two or three weeks to go from totally Tegratol to totally Oxcarbazepine, and I've been on 300mg of Ox alone for a couple of weeks or so.Then a week ago, I suddenly started getting a very intense feeling of deja vu, which hasn't left me since although the deja vu feeling sometimes changes (sometimes it's a nice anticipatory feeling of Christmas, other times it's incredibly frightening feeling of some less than pleasant experiences in my life). Then Tuesday night I think I had a seizure in my sleep (I woke in the morning having re-aggrivated a corneal erosion, which I presume is from having a seizure and either brushing a hand against my eye or simply from rolling my eyes back). This is the second time in a fortnight that I've re-aggrivated the wound - the first time I think was a seizure as well. Then throughout Wednesday as I waited in the Minor Injuries unit then at the doctor's surgery I kept getting tiny brain 'zaps' - kind of like the ones you get as you're falling asleep and you jerk yourself awake, except I was wide awake when these occurred. These zaps subsided after I went to sleep on Wednesday, when I decided to put myself back on 200mg Tegratol on top of my 300mg Ox (which is what I had been on during the swap) since Tegratol had certainly contained my seizures if nothing else.Thursday, I still had the intense feeling of deja vu. I went to a writer's group in the evening and found it very difficult reading aloud. My chest felt very tight and I felt on the verge of having an anxiety attack for much of the evening. Plus tinnitis suddenly started in my ears and I began to feel a little unsteady. It is now Monday of the next week, the tinnitis is still here, the deja vu is still here and I'm really struggling to focus my attention on anything - like so seriously unable to concentrate I feel like I'm stoned (although without the high).I've had epilepsy my entire life. I'm 38 now and I've never experienced anything like this. My doc is now going to move me onto another drug since this Oxcarbazepine is making me feel (and act) all strange. But I find it odd that these symptoms have only started in the past week, whereas I've been on Ox for at least two weeks. A delayed reaction maybe? Could the tinnitis be an inner ear infection and is unrelated to the medication?Has anyone had these symptoms before?
