Onfi withdrawal anyone? Having a rough time

Tue, 03/26/2019 - 21:01
This med is messing me all up. Im off of it a week now and because of the long half life it took about 3 days for the withdrawals to hit. I tapered down and when I got to 5mg I stopped after a week. Im feeling terrible. When will this stop? Im depressed, irritable, stomach issues. Does anyone know how long this will last for? Vitamin B helps, any other tips?

Hi katec:Medications have

Hi katec:Medications have their own effect and at the same time the effect can differ from patient to patient. As a result my advice to you is try not to guess too much about how long this will last. Sometimes the more we ponder things the more of an effect we can see. Onfi is definitely unique--in a league of its own. That said, I think the faster you would want to see this seeming effect ease and the more you ponder it, the longer it may seem to last. Sort of like doing an exam and constantly looking at the time. A terrible feeling can't be fun. And your stomach? Yes, that can't be fun katec. At the same time, try not to guess too much about how long it will take to go away. That will only make it seem longer. Observe but try not to guess when it will stop. Guessing can overwhelm us. That's the only tip I really have. And I am saying so by drawing a parallel to when I underwent neurosurgery. Recovery there requires not looking too much at the time and exercising a lot of patience even though it can seem annoying. That, and speak with your neurologist about what other things might help. I hope someone who probably had similar experience can offer you some tips. Best Regards

I was on onfi for about 2

I was on onfi for about 2 months NEVER AGAIN!!!  It caused me to drool with staring spells which is what I thought I was preventing.  Once I got off of it though I would stop eating for days because of the stomach pains and depression.  While I am not a neoro I do have epilepsy and everything from depression to the stomach issues have stopped once I switched to a medicine called Lamictal.
