Night time seizures

Wed, 05/29/2019 - 18:51
Hello everyone! So in short, I have night time seizures but lately they have started to kick in just before I fall asleep. I can feel a strong aura coming in and I get up, scared, trying to fight it off. It worked all the time until now but I am afraid to go to sleep now because of the aura. I am thinking like: what if I go into status epileptics or something and no one is around me? I am scared.

Hello, mynamedoesn'tmatter. I am going to you backward. You are actually lucky in that you have seizures at night.  Look at it as I know I will not fall and hit my head. I can say this to you because that used to happen to me. Second, if you have a time schedule as to when you got to bed, take a sleeping pill. I forget the name of the product. Don't be afraid when you awake. Remember you were blessed to wake up. :) Unisome is the sleeping pill that is non-habit forming.

I know exactly how you feel.

I know exactly how you feel. I too have night time seizures. I was always afraid to rest or sleep due to the fact of possibly never waking up. I would also fight off that aura. My auras I am aware of everything just can't speak. I only have the aura and night tine seizures when I don't get accurate rest. I use to work straight nights at the hospital and had to switch my schedule to get accurate rest. I found a bracelet that helps with epilepsy. Its called "Embrace". It will notify a family member by calling and texting them in real time when you are having a siezure. It also tracts the lenght and if you wake afterwards you have the option of tell your contacts that you are ok or if you need medical help. I wear one every night and also take my prescription. With a good sleep schedule, my prescription I haven't had a night time grand mal in 6 months. I hope this is helpful support. Its good to know I am not the only one with night epilepsy.
