Your questions are good ones

Your questions are good ones  I rode skateboards a long time ago prior to them being made. We made our own and yes they did work. Skates and 2x4's or a main 1x4 with a 1x6 worked well. If you like riding them please feel free to ride but do use a helmet .Same with snow boards. I used plywwod and rode them. Use the same helmet for them. I rode skim boards at th beach. High contact sports are just that high contact. Newer helmets are being used to  keep concussions from happening but they still happen. All it takes is one really hard hit to knock someone out and if that happens you could get a hemmorage to the brain. That hemmorgae to the brain can cause scared briain tissue which can and has caused seizures ie epilepsy. So a blow to the head hard enough to knock someone out can nad has caused someone to get epilepsy. Depending on the type of epilepsy you have may be looked at to determine the types of seizures you can have. But that does not mean you will have them all. As a teen I fought for control of my seizures. So yes I didn't have control of my seizures but I still did what I wanted to do. If I wanted to climb the mountain I did. I ran track and played all kinds of sports. Parents would not let me play on the teams but I played them im PE and sometimes after school. This forum is where yo ucan get the feedback you are wanting. I kind of wish we had had one when I was younger. Joe
