It's been years since I have purchased and read any books on epilepsy.  I used to read a lot more twenty-five or thirty years ago.  Steven Schachter wrote a several good books forming the Brainstorm Series.  This includes Epilepsy in Our Words, Epilepsy in our View, Epilepsy on Our Terms, Epilepsy in Our Experience, and Epilepsy in Our Lives.  These books contain short writings that help patients and caregivers understand that there are others going through similar experiences.   I also like Eve LaPlante's book, Seized.  She wrote about Temporal Lobe Epilepsy and the different ways (negative and positive) that it can effect different people.
