Temporal-lobe Epilepsy?

Mon, 04/09/2018 - 14:05
Hi i wanna start out and say ive never had a seizure and never had a reason to. I am 18 and diagnosed with GAD and have a Panic DIsorder, but i wanna figure out if i have temporal lobe epilepsy or not. Well i have always had this feeling but its never been as bad it was just super occasional, I randomly get a feeling after thinking of something or someone that was apart of my past, not quite deja vu. After i am done thinking of said thought, i get a really weird instant tired feeling and have a really brain dead feeling, im still fully aware of everything and usually end up going into a panic attack, so now its been happening while playing video games and now i dont know what to do, ive told my counselor about it and my parents, i just wonder if this is Temporal-lobe Epilepsy or just extreme anxiety. Thank you

I don't want a seizure and

I don't want a seizure and didn't order them but then I have seizures. I guess somebody ordered them for me.Research would show you that anxiety can be a part of many different types of seizures. For all you know you could have been having them for years and never knew it. Have you ever been told you were day dreaming? That too could have been a seizure known as an absence or focal seizure.Epilepsy does not discriminate. Anybody at any time be they rich or poor young or old and any race can get epilepsy.Anxiety is treated with many medications and some of them are used to treat epilepsy. If you are taking a medication that is also used to treat seizures or epilepsy then they could have been stopping seizures that you might have had if you weren't taking the medication. TLE is only one of th many types of epilepsy. Another is  Photosensitive Epilepsy. They can have a seizure if the lights change fast or if they are playing a video game and the screen changes. Others can have one if they are outside and the wind blows a leaf away since that leaf was blocking the sun. So with what you posted you may want to get a referral to a neurologist preferably one that specializes in epilepsy and discuss these with them.I hope this helps Joe
