Possible epilepsy please help (pt 2)

Continuation of post with same title: The iffy stuff: For a number of months after a fainting spell, I find myself hyper-prepared for the possibility of passing out again. Randomly throughout the day, on any day, I will suddenly feel weak, shaky, hyper-aware, clammy, hot or cold, nauseous, and anxious, feeling as if I am about to pass out. My first instinct is to grab onto something, though that never helps, and sometimes I lose focus, losing any ability to think as my body does literally anything it can to ground itself, including biting a pencil in half or giving myself a cut with a fingernail. Aside from this clamoring to remain conscious, I usually remain aware during these periods, and they pass either within a minute or two or within the half hour. Sometimes I still feel weak and shaky afterwards, find that I am sweaty, or feel exhausted. I also tend to feel numbness in my body at the beginning of these episodes, many times in various parts of my face, which I can still manipulate as normal, but which feel numb and detached. I can remember these episodes with clarity. Does this sound like any sort of seizures you have? Does it sound more like an anxiety attack? Remember, I do have anxiety and can typically differentiate the two, so I am not including instances where I was obviously having an anxiety attack and not a potential seizure. I just don't know what context to talk about it in if I do bring it up to my doctor and could use some insight from people familiar with what seizures feel like to them.

Hi Shiloh,Do you have a reason for fainting. Has you Doctor diagnosed anxiety as the cause. In any case, from my experience what you are describing is extreme panic. So I would describe your symptoms as worse than anxiety and as distinct "panic attacks."From my experience most seizures result in a virtual memory black out. So during the seizure an epileptic is not aware they are having an epileptic seizure. This can be for just a few seconds or several minutes. I've seen different types of seizures, as I've nursed epileptics and as an epileptic myself, I've always been out to it when I've had a seizure. Your fainting spells, on the other hand might be caused by epilepsy and that would certainly be a matter for your doctor to investigate with you.RegardsJane
