Washing in This Weather? No!

Tue, 07/18/2006 - 07:42
For years I've noticed how my seizures (or even fear of them happening) go up in the summer months. But here in NYC, it's getting more like jungle weather. Today it's expected to reach 100F degrees, with a heat-humidity index of around 104F. Now that, for anybody with or without "E" is damned hot! So what do I decide to do? Well, with the day off, I head right for my apartment building's basement so I can grab the two washers. I'm just back from a long trip, and have little to wear. However, I always seem to forget how heat and humidity can bring on pretty rotten feelings in the neurological system of this guy! Oh well, after the stuff is done I'm going out for a breakfast treat. And no, not with coffee! Stay cool, my friends! --George R

Hi George: You just confirmed something for me...my daughter is having a heck of a summer with her seizures...as she did last summer...and the summer before that...since developing epilepsy in 2003 after contracting encephalitis...the doctors always told me that heat doesn't have an effect on seizure activity...but I was never sure...but now I have my confirmation...thanks...
