craniosacral therapy

Wed, 06/25/2008 - 16:35

We have tried craniosacral therapy a couple of times now for my daughter, who has Dravet's syndrome. She was diagnosed with the syndrome just a few weeks ago but has had seizures since she was 11 months old. She also had brain surgery in September to try to remove the main area her seizures seemed to be coming from. She continues to have tonic-clonic seizures. (10 last week.) My question: Has anyone tried craniosacral therapy? What effects have you seen?

Thanks for any help!

Well, I'm not there in my studies yet, but I found this one review: http://www.revolutionhealth.com/drugs-treatments/rating/bodywork-therapies-craniosacral-therapy-for-epilepsy

I think it might be a little helpful and relaxing.  Does she seem to like it?  I just ask because if she doesn't seem interested, it's probably not calming.

Personally, I like the little tugs and touch - even moreso when there's a massage interwoven.  I have not noticed effects on my epilepsy, but I also rarely pay attention.  :)  It's nice though.
