My Story

Fri, 05/01/2020 - 21:26
Hello, My name is Jennifer I was diagnosed with epilepsy at a young age due to trauma to the head. I am now 44 years old. A ton has happened in my life. I not only have epilepsy, I have been diagnosed with depression and bi-polar illness; on top of that, suffer from addiction. I dont really know if any of my illness go hand in hand, or are related in some way... I have been through hell and back. I have seen numerous doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, neurologists, counselors, therapists, seen inpatient therapy, group therapy, and finally admitted for suicidal ideation when I was 32yrs old. In 2017 I began writing about my struggles and my journey with all of my illnesses. I wrote and wrote and wrote personal letters to myself. Positive notes. In the end, I compiled everything into a book. A book to help others who may be struggling with the same issues as well. Doctors and therapists recommended that I read every book under the sun; however, I could not relate to any of them. So, I wrote my own personal story. If you or anyone you know is suffering with epilepsy, mental illness, or addiction. Please share my writings in the book titled..."The Letter Writer: Words of Faith, Hope, and Love." by Jennifer Godek. It is now available on Amazon. I never in my life thought I could be an author. Epilepsy does not have to limit you. You can do anything in this life. Our paths may not always be smooth in life; however, if we believe anything is possible. I did not write this book for me. I wrote this book for you. https://www.amazon.com/Letter-Writer-Words-Faith-Hope/dp/B086L162QF/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=the+letter+writer+words+of+faith+hope+and+love&qid=1586437513&sr=8-2
