left temporal lobe seizures

Sun, 11/15/2009 - 16:08

 Hi!

I have been recently diagnosed with left temporal lobe seziures.  I have not convlused.  BUT,  I smell strange smells almost constantly.  Last week,  Everything I heard ,( TV-people talking, etc) sounded like a microphone was in my left ear.  very loud!!  I am dizzy almost all the time.  Sometimes too dizzy to even get out of bed.  My ears ring almost constantly.  Has anyone ever had this happen??  If so, did you ever actually have convulsions.  I really don't know what to expect.  I am going for more tests next week.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Also,  I'm forgetting how to spell and say some words when i'm talking.  Not remembering,  forgetting where i park at a shopping center, etc.  Please help.

THANKS!

Are you taking a  medication  at this time?

What you are describing needs to be discussed w/ you physician.  It could be medication.  It could be a cold.  It could be neurological and tests need to verify what the cause is.

Recently what you are giving was from a bad virus and I was very confused at times as it progressed, I had a sinus infection and couldn't walk straight worth a darn, my ears rang too.  The smell was part of it too.  It made me want to vomit.

Each thing can be interpreted differently and a doctor is the best person to ask.

Aura or warnings can be discribed like you have given, but the Neurologist is the best person to verify it for you.  When my aura or warnings occur I sometimes stay awake and alert and alot of times I have no knowledge what happens.  They often go into a complex partial episode.
