Warning Signs !
Wed, 08/27/2008 - 15:06Just curious to know if anyone else gets this as a warning sign of a pending seizure. I mean the big one! Does anyone feel like the earth is bouncing up and down beneath their feet.
Does anyone wake up and feel so stiff and like someone has used their eyes as a punching bag? My eyes are so sore today. No matter where I look, up/down/sideways ! OUCH! I see nothing but prism colored circles in my peripheral vision today and boy I am exhausted

I was born with epilepsy and had grand mal seizure upto the age of 4.
For the last 2 years I've had migraines but dr thought they came from not wearing my glasses.
Recently I've started getting a bloody nose anytime I get upset.
It seems my migraines get worst with my glasses.
Today I blacked out and felt as if i were to faint and kept jerking my arms and i couldnt hear anything but my heartbeat and i couldnt see either. I also felt tingling all over my body and the back of my head felt like i couldnt carry it. When I regained sight i felt very confused and disorientated.
I do wake up with soreness everywhere.
My mother also suffers with grand mal seizures and she says she feels tingling on her left part of her body starting with the toes up. By the time it reaches her face she know she is about to have a seizure.

I was diagnosed with epilepsy (partial/complex partial seizures) 5 months ago. It had been going on for years before that though because I was confused by the symptoms and for a while I thought perhaps I was about to fall or faint.
Anyway, I get this strange feeling at seizure onset. I have described it as a falling + rising sensation to my neurologist, but you hit it on the head.. it feels like the floor is bouncing up and down, or maybe I'm moving up and down?! It's bizarre but yes I completely understand. I do not find it unpleasant, just a little surreal
But no... no sore eyes. I used to wake up feeling battered though, and I suppose that after a several seizures in close proximity I feel battered as well and can sleep for the rest of the day, until the next.
Also no visual lights or anything like that. Do you have a headache? If it follows a seizure then perhaps you have post-ictal migraine? Your eyes may feel sore with a migraine, and you can feel pretty rough. Some people who have seizures also have migraines, which can follow a seizure or happen between seizures.
