New onset JME
Sat, 06/25/2011 - 23:20My 15 y.o. daughter has been having twitching for about a year when she didn't get enough sleep. This morning she had a full blown seizure in the car as I was driving her to school activity she was excited about attending. She was up late last night and didn't have much sleep. She was being followed by a neurologist and a work up was in process for JME. She had an MRI yesterday which was negative.
She was started on Keppra today and I am afraid to leave her side for fear she will have another seizure. Will I get over this. What are the chances for additional seizures? She is scheduled for a sleep deprived EEG in two weeks. I afraid she will have a seizure if she is sleep deprived.
Anyone have insight for me?
