Never Give Up

Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a teacher and work with kids in preschool-4th grade, after I graduated from high school I throught I would just take a year off of school before going to college and getting my degree in becaming a teacher. I ended up not going back to school for two years, now I have started going to college and i feel like some of the staff here at my college aren't treated me like I am a normal college student, I already had Epilepsy and I already didn't feel normal but now the feel normal part feels like it is never going to end I thought is was kind of going to end because I started feeling slightly normal when I first started college, I just was scared to have people know about my epilepsy and then I had a seizure in class in front of everybody it was really embarrassing because everybody saw it, but my teacher told the class what happened at they all seem pretty understanding and they are going to be teachers some time soon, so I guess it wasn't as bad having a seizure in class. But there are time when you feel like it would be best to just give up on your dream and your dream job but I keep telling myself not to give up and to keep trying because I know that i will make a great teacher.

Never give up on your dreams...good for you! My motto has always been ‘I may have epilepsy but epilepsy doesn’t have me!’ I actually wrote an article yesterday on telling people about your epilepsy. Most of people’s fear comes from a lack of understanding so give them a bit of information and they won’t be bothered about it. Good luck in becoming a teacher...never give up! ;)
