Hope all of you are doing well and are staying healthy and safe.
I wanted to share my story and make a suggestion.
I live in Chicago Northwest suburbs. I had few seizures in my life in my early 20s, after which had to start taking anti-seizure medicine. I am planning to have children, so since 2009 was taking Keppra XR 500mg brand name.
Keppra XR is unbelievably expensive medication and when I had no insurance -2009 through 2015, but 2015 - 2017 my medicine still wasn't covered by that insurance, until just recently, then I lost my job which was primary income in our household, plus I was working on my parents' immigration at the time, and supporting my Mom financially as she just moved to U.S. as a new permanent resident. I was struggling financially I can't tell you even how bad! But I've managed to stay on this medicine from the very start till this day, and even though it was costing nearly $900-100 retail price a month, I was paying it until a better option I was finding later on - I enrolled as an outpatient clinic patient and was buying Keppra XR with a discount for only $260 per month for few years. Then I desperately was applying everywhere I could, to get my medicine for a reasonable price... I was still struggling and was desperate for any help I could get. I felt that I am living and working just to pay off my medication month-to-month... After several years when I lost all hope, I was finally accepted in to a financial program from the manufacturer. There I was receiving my medicine for free as a low income person. That was a break for me and I acquired some sort of stability and peace of mind.
Now I am married and have a health insurance from my husband's employer, which also covers my medication unlike my previous insurance from my own employer when I worked in retail. So now I no longer struggle with the cost of medication and can afford to buy it at a reasonable price.
My doctor has me now on a lower dosage and it turned out that I have more than I need to take this month. I just found in my medical cabinet 3 brand new sealed bottles of brand name Keppra XR 500 mg, 60 pills in each bottle, so 180 pills total. They came from the manufacturer in the original sealed bottles. Properly stored and untampered. They are expiring at the end of this month, May 2020, so it's still good for few weeks! If anybody is taking Keppra XR, and is interested to pick it up, I will be happy just to give it away - to donate it to someone in need, someone like myself years ago.
So if you are struggling with getting your medicine because you don't have insurance or you are struggling with buying it because it's still is expensive even with insurance, I can help you at least with few weeks supply.
Those 3 brand new bottles of brand name Keppra XR 500 mg worth nearly $1500 retail! So, please, reach out to me and I will be happy to help!
By the way, I've been on this medicine for 11 years, 500 mg 2 tablets twice a day, until just recently, when my dosage was lowered to 3 pills a day. No seizures for many years. I experience some side effects, like fatigue and irritability, but nothing major nor unmanageable. My doctor says that this medicine is the safest for being on it, while getting ready for and having a baby.
Hope my post will be helpful to you, my friends!
Stay safe! We are all in it together!
