Focal epilepsy symptom = emotional anguish, anyone else?

Sun, 10/27/2019 - 19:23
I only have focal seizures. I am looking for anyone who inderstand these feelings. When my seizure strikes this feeling of an intense emotional pain races up on me and in my head im thinking “i cant take this, it has to stop or I have to die”. I am not suicidal, just being honest about my experience. It is only during my seizure. Anyway, during or near the end of this mental torture, I sometimes have diarrhea or vomit. Annnyyyone else? I feel super alone with this.

I've been having these

I've been having these symptoms for a few years. I'm in my 50's!  I had no idea they were symptoms of Seizures!  Initially, I thought they were weird panic attacks and I felt shame.  But they're so patterned when they happen. I called my sister last week. She''s an RN and she did some research which led us here! Very similar! Mine only appear to happen in the morning shower, but randomly.  Overwhelming anxiety, hallucinating, but aware it's not real. tunnel vision, nausea, it's kind of scripted and it's like dreaming with my eyes open.  I don't want to die, but I can't get off the bus; it's like an out of body experience and yet deep in my own head. It  just has to run it's course. Some are stronger than others.  Sometimes it wears me out for hours afterward, even though it lasts maybe a minute or so.  So strange?!  Just reading your experience is somewhat comforting!  Hope you/we find relief! I'm calling my doctor in the morning to get some relief!  Grateful for this site!
