Can static/white noise cause seizures?

Thu, 06/13/2013 - 08:40
Hey it's my first post here and I was wondering about something. I have epilepsy and I'm into meditation and astral projecting buuuut some techniques for astral projection include binaural beats to listen to. Don't worry I don't do those! I've done my research on that and it can cause seizures apparently. But I've heard that listening to static noise like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DH0BQtwEAsM can help with meditation and astral projection/lucid dreaming etc. I'm interested in doing something called the Ganzfeld Effect. I was also wondering if anyone thinks this would be dangerous as well, I'm not sure why or how it would be but I'm always cautious now that I have epilepsy. Though I'm sure meditation is fine. More info on the Ganzfeld Effect-> http://www.dreamviews.com/general-dream-discussion/88552-ganzfeld-effect-quick-safe-homemade-hallucinations.html But yeah basically I was curious if static/white noise can cause seizures, does anyone know? Thanks!

I don't know about the ganzfeld theory. Anyway, noise can possibly cause seizures. There is electricity that is flowing in human brain which can respond to different things in environment. So, if that electricity start firing out irregularly it can cause seizure.
