How do you remember to take your medication?

Hello-I'm new here-I was diagnosed with epilepsy about 2 yrs ago. I had a seizure shortly after my son was born, and the EEG revealed epilepsy. I've been taking Lamictal 100mg in the morning and evening, and for the past few weeks I've been having a lot of trouble remembering to actually take it. I think partly this is due to some kind of resentment that I have to take it-if that makes any sense? I use a pill box, keep it by my nightstand, kept a small stash of lamictal in the kitchen incase I'm too lazy to actually get the pill box out of the bedroom. Honestly, the time comes to take it, I have every intention of taking it and the I wake up or get to work and realize that I didn't take it. I understand the dangers of inconsistency, and I really need to get better at this. Thanks in advance!

oh yes, we also have a nite dose in the truck, in my purse and he keeps one in his pocket, so that if we are ever caught out past pill time, he has a dose to take. kathy

Its easy at home because my "medicine reminder" is my daughter. She is constantly asking me if I have taken my meds. I feel really bad for her because the only time she saw me have a seizure was pretty intense and it has stayed with her. I hate that she feels she must "protect" me from this happening again. Otherwise, my biggest problem is the morning dose because we are always running trying to get off to school/work. So what I do is keep a separate pill box in my purse so I always have a backup in case I forget.

Hi, I keep my pills in a pill box beside my bed. Not so much to remember to take them but to keep them somewhere in a safe place in an organised fashion and can see when I need to refill again. much easier. I remember by taking them when i get up in the morning, and taking them in the evening when I get home from work which would be 12 hours later. I bring my evening pills with me to work though just in case I happen to be working late and then I would take them at work instead. It's a habit more than anything else!
