My Seizure Diary 4.0

Epilepsy News From: Tuesday, March 10, 2020

The Epilepsy Foundation has updated My Seizure Diary! Now all features in the diary are available through the iOS and Android apps, as well as at diary.epilepsy.com.

The latest changes include:

  • New expanded reports and graphs
  • Quicker recording of rescue medicine use
  • Technical upgrades to improve diary function and ease of use

View your data more easily and customize your experience!

Keeping a seizure diary is only good if you can view your data and see how you are doing. Sharing this data in an easy to use way with your health care team, family, or other caregivers can make a difference.

What can the new reporting offer?

  • Customize the data you want to see
  • Select the time period you want to view — the past week, month, or whatever time period you need
  • Choose the features you want to look at — compare one or all seizure types to medicine doses, side effects, triggers, missed doses, or use of rescue medicines!
  • Look at your data in a written report or graphs
  • Print your reports to paper or to a pdf to download and save

View some of the new graphs at the top of this page.

Track when rescue medicines are used and know how well your treatment is working!

We've always had the ability to track rescue medicines. These are medicines used as needed to stop seizure clusters or seizures that last longer or are different than usual. (Some examples of rescue medicines include diazepam rectal gel, lorazepam, diazepam, or midazolam.) When you use a rescue medicine and if they help is important information to share with your treating provider.

  • This new upgrade offers a short-cut to enter rescue therapies.
  • On each diary day, you'll see a place to enter a Rescue Rx ("Rx" refers to a medicine or treatment). Now you can just click this feature and the Rescue Rx will be entered.
  • You can open the medicine field to enter or change details of the Rescue Rx, if desired.
