Join us for an educational webinar, “A Focus on Health for Women and Girls with Epilepsy.” A diagnosis of epilepsy in women and girls raises special reproductive and general health concerns. Hormone levels change throughout a woman’s lifetime. As a result, seizure frequency and severity may change at puberty, over the menstrual cycle, during pregnancy, and at menopause. Careful consideration must also be given to antiseizure medication treatment choices as they play a significant role in contraception, pregnancy, breastfeeding and bone health.

If you are a woman living with epilepsy and your seizures are not well controlled or if you have unanswered questions about how hormones are influencing your seizures, ask about referral to an epilepsy center where you can find a specialist in epilepsy and women's health to assist in your care.
