Community Corner: Social Security Resources for People with Epilepsy

Epilepsy News From: Friday, April 13, 2018

Did you know that April is National Social Security Month? The Social Security Administration (SSA) wants to help people learn what help is available. Navigating financial resources is complex and can take a lot of time. Meeting with a social worker, resource specialist, or case manager is a good start to sort out your needs and find out how to get started.

The SSA website offers help online and may be a good place to start too.

These resources may include

  • Social security benefits and retirement planning
  • Social security disability benefits and how to apply
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and who can apply
  • Medicare benefits
  • Resources for spouses, children and survivors
  • How to appeal decisions
  • And lots more!
Visit ssa.gov to learn more.

Let us know your concerns and we will highlight resources here!

Best wishes,
