David Taplinger MD

David Taplinger, MD is an assistant professor of neurology at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, where he cares for patients within the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program and also serves as the Neurology Residency Program director.

Dr. Taplinger completed medical school at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2011. He subsequently attended internship and residency in neurology at the University of Virginia, where he went on to complete fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy.

Dr. Taplinger is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with epilepsy, with both his clinical practice and research interests, which focus on the beneficial effects of exercise for seizures, safe sports and fitness participation, and optimizing overall physical and mental health in people with epilepsy.
