Winning Kid
Becky (Age 12)
I’m Becky. I’m 12 years old and I have epilepsy. It is hard to tell my friends that I have epilepsy. Every year someone from the Epilepsy Association comes to talk about epilepsy to my class, but I don’t tell everybody I have epilepsy and I am a Winning Kid because I don’t want to brag about it. By being a Winning Kid, I have learned a lot about epilepsy and I’m not shy when I talk to people I don’t know. When I have to talk in front of people, I talk loud and clear. If you have epilepsy, too, remember—it’s not just you!
