I don't want to say I'm glad I found other people who are going through the same thing, because that's horrible, but I'm glad that we all have a support group. A few days ago I woke up in the hospital. Apparently I had 5 seizures, which was the most I ever had in a day. My boyfriend had seen me have a seizure once, and he said that when he saw me have 4 he just had to call an ambulance. Now I just feel depressed, and I hate feeling depressed. I'm usually the happiest person in the room, and every time I have a seizure I get depressed for a bit.

My 9 year old daughter was diagnosed with photo-sensitive epilepsy 2 years ago. She takes Tegretol and Lamotrigine to control her seizures, and although her TC seizures have been under control for 11 months she does still have absences regularly.

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I was just looking for some advice. I had my first grand mal seizure when I was 20 in April of 2011. Prior to that, I was very active, in tip top health, constantly in the gym, played college baseball on a full scholarship, etc. Since I had my first seizure, I had 2 more. The second one happened in october of 2011 and the third one happened a couple days ago. What they all had in common was that they happened within 5 minutes of when I woke up and that I was sleep deprived which I definitely recognize as being my trigger.

For those within the United States that do not have insurance or not good insurance there is a discount card online.  I have not personally used it because I have pretty good insurance and its like $5 more with the discount card, but it may help some.  I take 375mg of generic Lamictal a day and the website said at my local pharmacy the price would be $15, so I called to see what it would be self pay and they said $430 per month.  There is no way I could afford that if I didnt have insurance.  The website is www.TCSscripts.provisionRx.com

Hello everyone, my name is Eric. I had my first grand mal seizure 11 years ago at the age of 14. When I first went to the neurologist, he had diagnosed me with PNES (Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures). Ever since that first seizure, I've had about five or six grand mals. He has tried three different medications, which include Lamictal, Dilantin and Keppra. The Lamictal was the only one that worked for me. I have been grand mal free for about two years now, but for the past few months, I have noticed that I'm having more and more petit mal seizures, ranging from 1-6 per day.

Hi,

Just I'm so glad i came across this forum reading some post so many people like my own although I am struggling with daily life right now.

I had absence seizures through out my teens probably brought on by stress due to being bullied until i left high school.

I just wanted to find out if anyone shares my issues and how they manage them.

I think for the most part the seizures were extremely few and far between in my twenties they mostly started becoming noticeable again a couple of years ago.

Im 20 years old and i have sleep deprived seizures. Since being diagnosed ive gone from being a real social butterfly to a loner, ive lost a lot of friends, i dont date anymore because of my condition and its even affecting my job. id love some advice from other people on how to cope with my condition, its really getting me down. Thanks :)

Hello my first seizure was on 11/12/2004 it was induced by a combination of stress seeing my mother in hospital over a year, light drug use marijuana and inhalants I believe it started a year before this during my sleep i thought my house was haunted when i felt weird i distinctivly remember the extreme deja vu feelings i would get when i was asleep and i got "the hauntings" i took phenytoin from 11/2004- 10/2005 the side affects of this medication was unbearable..
