Supporting our friends in Connecticut and beyond

For the past few days I've been trying to figure out what to say. There's no words to describe what has happened and what the people of Connecticut must be feeling. The situation affects us all around the world and it's important to reach out to each other for support, solace, and grieving. It reminds us of how precious and unpredictable life is. Horrible incomprehensible things happen and answers often aren't available. As we hear the news unfold, take time also to think of the love, support and resiliency that people are displaying. That's what helps us all cope with such difficult times.

For people having problems with their own health, you may find that you are more susceptible to stress and grief right now. Use your own supports - talk about what you are feeling, reach out to family, friends, and faith. Use support groups professional help too. Hug each other a little bit harder... Pray for our friends at the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut, American Epilepsy Society in Hartford, and epilepsy centers in that area - that they are okay and that they can support people with epilepsy and their families during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
