Decrease of frequency of seizures but increase of Auras ?

My daughter has had a decrease in actual epileptic episodes but now she gets auras every 2-3 days. These auras last a couple of minutes and deep breathing seems to help.

Any ideas / suggestions / thoughts...

Thanks

It could be being caused by some panic disorder. What is going on when these auras occur. I am having a lot of hot flashes, myself, they don't seem to be going anywhere, but I am on new medication for them, an antidepressant. It's possible that they are attacks and not auras.

hmm... she is in the midst of her exams but we have put no pressure on her as regards to performance. She describes her aura as a 'scared feeling'

I dont want to just increase her meds .

Could just be the exams, not everything is neural.

When I was in college my partial/complex decreased,  when I was taking mid-terms and finals.   The simple partial seizures occurred.  They were 2 to 3 sec. and I was not remembering as well as I could of.  If I slept better and not under stress.

The University I went to had a project where they had quiet rooms, the gym had yoga classes during this interim.  I passed and I noticed the auras or partial seizures seemed to melt away, w/ this type of rest.

I just had a hearing about being disabled still, during it I was having eye flickers and so forth. I was from the stress of so many delays and misunderstandings to the entire case. There is no way of telling wether or not this would have happend at the same time had I not been in there. I don't believe it would have. Discussing the extent on which seizure impact my life was not helping.

so when you had simple partial seizures was your memory loss short term , did it affect your performance during exams ?

That's a great idea,I've never had an aura, been uncontrollable/refractory seizures since '74.Have tried more than 26 medicines and had a unsuccessful left temporal lobectomy in '96,it didn't reduce med's or seizures but it did cause verbal-memory loss.I wish I had an aura so I'd be warned to pull over if driving. My seizures come on so quickly with instant unconsciousness.
