WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ME?????????????

Hello..you can call me AngNj. I am a 37 year old female and over the past 2-3 years I have noticed changes in me. I had a complete hysterectomy Nov '06 and can not take hormones due to them causing migraines. My fahter passed away in May '08..By Nov '08 I experienced an acute pshycosis. I was sent to the hospital for an evaluation and sent home with tegretol. I was to take the tegretol for only a short period and then was taken off slowly. I was ok until almost a year later..in Oct '09 I was placed in another hospital for an evalutation. This time I was diagnosed with histrionic personality disorder and panic disorder w/o agorophobia and was put on Celexa. Now it is March '10 and I am telling you something is NOT RIGHT. When I slip off into this thing, this unkown thing, it horrifies me. I experienced another awful episode over the weekend. First I feel my heart fluttering & racing and my head hurts like NEVER before..almost like there are 2 axes on each side of the center of my head and the pain radiates deep into my head. Then comes the dizzy spell, blurry vision (usually in my right eye) and then I catch my self starring at nothing almost as if I don't even blink during this time and this past weekend my arm was so stiff and I was in so much pain with it..Once it even drew up on me for a minute and then the pain hit again, this has NEVER happened before. Then again a pain radiates deep in my head and all the sudden I hear what I can only describe as my heart beat in my ear or it can also be described as the sound of the manual b/p makes after it is pumped up and released. (SOUNDS CRAZY but that is the only way I can explain.) And in the midst of all this there is the behavior changes..anything from uncontrollable crying to becoming very angry and I don't even know why. And after I experience this hell I lay there EMPTY. Feeling completely empty and at a loss of words...After one of these it is like I can not find the words I need and I find it to be the most simple words...CRAZY

My husband took me to the ER this weekend they done a CT scan and it was normal. They told me it was migraines..WHATEVER. This is NO migraine. I have a family history of seizures, my dad use to do the same exact things that are happening to me and eventually he started having seizures to where it was like he just feel asleep but you couldn't wake him.

Please can someone, anyone tell me does this sound like anything any of you have experienced???? I want answers before I end up like my dad did. He died at the age of 61 from years of strokes, seizures, heart attacks, parkinsons and dimentia. His first stroke hit him at age 38...I am 37 and my health mimics my dads. I AM SO SCARED.

I had my MRI & MRA done last week. A couple of days later the doctors office called and said that there are abnormalties in the blood flow to part of my brain...Hung up the phone and about 5 minutes later they called right back telling me I had to get in to see a vascular dr, went in & ran a rest on me to be sure there were no blockages in my neck arteries...everything clear there! But still no answers to what is going on...Said there is a possiblity that the MRI/MRA was just a bad picture but they want to do a particular kind of cat scan to be sure. Still waiting to see a neurologist...On a cancellation list if not then appointment is April 22. I also have an appointment for my son to see a neurologist on April 19. I just pray that some how some way we find answers soon.

Dear Angnj,

It is crucial that you realize how much control you have in this situation. Remaining calm, remaining reflective and open to these very difficult experiences will be so very vital to your health. I am quite certain that you are epileptic and that you are experiencing aura's and seizures.  Depending upon how calm you remain and how accepting you are of these absolutely intense and frightning moments will determine exactly how you are able to move forward in life. I sufferred 7 seizures the other day and I have since experienced much of what you have written about and it was more intense than any hallucinogen I have ever purposefully ingested.  I am confident that the more you are able to accept and be at peace with this "power" you now have, the less scary it will be. Honestly, I feel you have tapped into a very universal source, and the brain absolutely struggles because it is INTENSE. One of my biggest issues the last few days is not having the words to describe how I feel, what I am experiencing, the incredible thoughts and sensations.... to not have the words to describe things that have rocked me to the core is very difficult! (I too cry like crazy and have been easily angererd) - If you want something to help describe what you are feeling and going through pick up the The Toa Te Ching... #20 left me sobbing)

Please know that I beleive you are experiencing very special things most people will never understand, and that if you listen closely enough you will understand.   Just so you know- a normal brain pulses with electricity about 80 times a second. When we are "staring through" and listening to the music of our own heart... our brain is pulsing with electricity up to 500 times PER SECOND. It is very scary, but I promise you, you are special and you are experiencing something absolutely incredible. Remind yourself how special this moment is, how special YOU are! I love you!

Hi. I had a grand mal seizure due to a drug I was given for kidney problems
in July 1999. Since then my temporal lobe has been damaged and I have been
having auras. To me it sounds like you are having AURAS too! Right after the
grand mal seizure I would have an aura a day and the ones I had back then, when
I was 12 ,(I am now almost 23), seem to be like what is happening to you.

I now usually only have one aura every 40 days because I can control
them based on some of the signals you have mentioned. I find, just like you, it
always starts off with my heart beating fast and then I feel quite scared. If
this happens I usually call a friend -- it seems like if my brain is focusing on
something like talking to someone or cooking (moving) my head focuses on doing
that and the aura goes away! But, if it’s bad enough for me not to control I,
just like you said, feel really dizzy and just can't see strait. It gets really
frustrating because during the aura I end up staring at something and I know
all this is happening but I just can't stop it!!!!!!!!!!!! Friends and family
say I usually say things that don't make sense during the aura but I have never
had any weird mood spells and I am sorry to hear you do. Finally, it always
ends with me taking 3 extra strength migraine relief pills because my head
hurts so much after this torture.

Sorry for all the details, but I agree with what "6ander" said.
You better go get some help. Due to you having symptoms like me it seems like
you must be having auras. If you had an EEG or MRI they could find out what
part of your brain they are coming from and get you on some different,
particular meds which might stop you from ever having a grand mal seizure --
Auras are usually a signal for people who have petit-mal seizures but for
people like me with a brain injury I just get them once in a while due to the
brain damage.

I hope you find out what the trouble is and that you get well soon!

Brainjury

I experienced problems in perio-menopause. Basket case is what I would call myself. I take HRTs, they helped me. Have you tried naturo-pathic methods, or creams? I will pray for you.

My 15 year old daughter has right temporal lobe seizures that sound very similar.  She panics and then screams....it is very, very scary to her.  She had a massive blood clot on her brain that has caused damage to her right temporal lobe.....I recommend persistenting with your doctors.  I would have never, ever thought that this was a seizure until we started investigating.  These seizures also can last from 5 - 15 minutes and she often has auras before.  Vision is also affected!!  good luck.

6ander...

Thank you for your time and sharing your story with me. This is very scary...I couldn't imagine being only 15 or even worse a small child and having to experience this hell. I am 37 and it scares me...I have experienced some awful things in my 37 years on earth but this has to be the worst yet.

I will say a prayer for your daughter. Please pray I get answers soon....

Good luck to all!!!

I took my son to see a psychologist today due to anger issues. Walked out amazed.. the dr just looked at his paper work and asked "has your son ever had seizures?"  Here I have been trying to figure out what the heck is going on with me. Who would have ever thought just maybe I can get answers through my son. You see we both have alot of similar sympthoms. Just started researching seizures a few months back and finally i am getting closer to being able to put my finger on what is going on with myself and my son.

As I said in my original post..I am concerned about my medical problems lining up with my dads...and now it looks as if this thing is affecting my son as well.

I pray for answers soon...whether it is through my son or myself, I do believe answers lie just around the corner.
