Topamax + Effexor = Bad Mix ?

I have been on Topamax with good Sz control.  But got really depressed on it.  Neuro is reluctant to pull me off b/c of that.  Just got prescribed Effexor.  Just took the first dose last night.  Had a funky reaction.  Actually felt like I was on recreational drugs, can't even describe it but it wasn't fun.  My teeth didn't even feel like they were in my mouth they felt like they were on the top of my head.  It was like I was trippin.  I had taken it before bedtime and woke up in the middle of the night that way, only lasted a few minutes and I went back to sleep thank God. By this morning it I am O.K.

Kinda scared to take another dose of the Effexor.

Anyone with any anecdotal evidence of these two mixed? the pharmacist and my neuro assure me they are okay to take together but day-um.

 Anyone?

I take both, but I've never felt quite high like that. Everybody reacts to drugs differently. Obviously the combination isn't working for you. Descibe the weird sensation to your doctors again. Hope everything works out.

camill...

yep, def. not a good mix for me. maybe my brain damage has left me weak in certain areas or something and more susceptible to certain chemical mixes? thanks for your reply :)
