I had a grand mal seizure in my sleep, possibly more on nov 9th... no one was home so i don't know how many i had
i went to the er the next day because my sister convinced me to.. bc the seizure was weird.. I normally feel relaxed/exhausted after a seizure as if all my energy was released... this time my occipital lobe hurt so bad just before i went to bed. and i woke up with lots of teeth marks on my tongue but i didnt wake up like i normally do all groggy first then instantly sleep it off. I've been a MESS since the seizure possibly more?
the ct scan in the er was clear
i talked to my neuro, he said it may have been several szs in a row... therefore longer to recover.
I'm dying here for advice/input
when will this get better. i'm still in soo much pain its unreal
could i have stopped breathing during the seizure?
status Epilepticus??
what should i do to speed this recover... obviously i've been trying to rest but i'm in university.. exams are comin up
please, similar stories...anything
once again it was on Nov 9th

Smalt is rght although i kept right on trying to go through school but it was hard because it was like two weeks worth of stuff i learned just decided to disappeared. It took me two weeks to fully recover from the status epilepticus physically but not brain cells nor neurologically. Ususlly even after a seizure although i would be relaxed/tired this time i could not even talk, blink my eyes or move a single finger to communicate with the er staff. It took me a while before i could go back to school and for the teachers to help me. In one way you stop breathing but you do not due to lack of oxygen. Now the length of the seizure could determine that for example if it is for 90 seconds the only true way to know is if you have one of those things that you put on your fingertip to see what your oxygen level is or to be hooked up in the er.
Now about your head hurting. Has your head been hurting a long time before that? If so then did you have sensitivity to light? Did you feel nauseated when your head would hurt? Did your ears have this ringing like noisethat would drive you crazy? The reason why to make it short is that when you have a migraine the receptors are blocked which can lead to a misfire of abnormal brain waves in the brain. Let me know so i might be able to give you websites to more information. Keep me posted on how you are doing. ok.
I hope you are feeling ok. I am new to this site. My husband had a grand mal this morning, we think. he just fell asleep finally and he had a small one. i am just watching him and hoping he will not hurt himself or have another big one. i am praying for all of us.
thank you for your post.

guys i really do need feedback here... :(
two weeks seems like a long time to feel like crap after a sz?
doesn't it?
Yes it does, I have been there after going multiple rounds. I am still n recovery after my last one or two or how ever many I had. So I totally know how you feel, and I can't get in to see my neuro until DEC. 10! Remember water and sleep are your friends...
