Recording nocturnal seizures

I'm looking for some ideas on recording nocturnal seizures.  My 3 yo has very very subtle complex partial seizures the first two hours he's sleeping.  Often, my opening the door and checking on him wakes him up and starts a seizure.

 

 

I don't know how to definitively know if he's having a seizure with out being in the room with him.  I've thought about recording him with my webcam, but not sure if the resolution would  be high enough.  Thoughts?
