Burning sensation in head

Hello, I was diagnosed with Complex Partial Seizures in my left temporal lobe about two months ago by two different neurologists; they both suggested Keppra. I started taking the regular Keppra twice a day and was not doing well on it. Then I started taking the generic and started to feel better. Being afraid that the generic might not control my seizures enough, my doctor put me on Keppra XR Extended Release 2 500mg (1000mg) once at bedtime.

Side effects like dizziness and tiredness are starting to fade a bit but now I have this burning sensation right around where the seizures activity is happening. It feels like someone is stabbing me with a hot knife and just leaving it in my head. It’s not always there but when it is, man it’s so annoying. This never happened before the medication and I'm curious if anyone has the experience while having these seizures or taking this medication.

Thank You,

Nicole D.
