Hi,I am 20 years old and am moving to either Parker, Colorado or Woodstock, Connecticut in April of 2010 (not sure which state yet). I was wondering is anybody could recommend a good neurologist in either of these areas as I have no idea where to start!!Please help.

I see Dr. Jayant Phadke in Worcester, MA. I used to live in West Woodstock, CT, and commute to Worcester for work every day, so it's not that bad of a distance (maybe 45 min.) to see a doctor.

Thank you, do you find him good? I am having all sorts of problems with my current Neurologist here in Australia. I was hospitalised recently for five days because I was having multiple seisures per day and Io not think that he handled the situation very well.
Well, he was the one who diagnosed seizures when my other neurologist insisted that I was depressed and said that she could prescribe "speed" to me if that was all I wanted. It didn't matter to her at all that I told her I wasn't depressed and only wanted to be able to find out why I couldn't stop falling asleep all the time, she still insisted that it was depression. Dr. Phadke listened to my symptoms, gave me an EEG, and diagnosed seizure activity, which was a diagnosis I never even expected in a million years. He prescribed Keppra, which has been working well for about 3 years now.
I met one other person who had Dr. Phadke and had nothing but praise for him. So, as they say, your mileage may vary, but out of the 3 neurologists I've dealt with, he was by far the best one. The other 2 were very unpleasant and wouldn't listen to anything but their own voices.

Thank you so much, he sounds really good. I have been with 2 Neurologists so far, the first one who diagnosed me was no help at all in explaining the condition and what to do when I had a seizure. My current Neurologist is exactly how you described your previous ones. After a year of being seizure free I started having seizures again. It got so bad that I was hospitalized (I was having about 15 a day and one of those days I had over 30, 20 of which were one after the other). After being in hospital for 5 days, I was still having seizures but my current Neurologist still sent me home even though I was suffering from multiple grand mal seizures with no cause found. I live in Canberra, Australia and there are only 2 or 3 Neurologists here so my choices are limited.
Aramey, you can try:
Colorado
Dr. Patricia Fodor, Colorado Springs, CO
Connecticut
Dr. Robert Duckrow, Yale (at least somewhere in New Haven, if not at Yale), CT
Dr. Adam Mednick, Comprehensive Neurological Management, North Haven, CT
Dr. Susan Spencer, Yale New Haven Hospital, CT
These docs were recommended by forum members of www.epilepsyfoundation.org/efforums who have had positive experiences with them over the years. This list is based on personal recommendations, I haven't seen them myself. But positive experience is a good start!

Thank you so much! Out of everything that I have to do before I move, finding a Neurologist has been the hardest. It is so important that I find someone who is competent and that I get along with.
