I was diagnosed with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy in August after suffering a grand mal seizure in late July. For a year and a half I had been having simple and complex partial seizures each month (right around my period) but never had a clue it was actually seizures. The symtoms were just so strange I never mentioned them to anyone. I honestly thought I was just going crazy! After the grand mal I came home and done some reading and realized what I had been suffering from all those months were actually seizures!
My neurologist started me on Keppra, 1,000 mg a day and since August I have been seizure free and have honestly felt like a new person. This week, the seizures have made a comeback. Not nearly as bad as they were before, no de-ja vu feelings, smells, tastes, just feelings of disorientation, sweating, etc. I am to see my doctor again tomorrow. Such a let down after I had been doing so well. :o(
