2 BEST DOCTORS - 1 has just moved from WI to CA

DR. MARY ZUPANC has moved to Children's Hospital of Orange County in CALIFORNIA

DR. MARCUCCILLI is a "protege" of hers in Milwaukee, WI.

BOTH are the world's greatest epileptologists in my opinion.  We fly to see them from TN.  No distance is too great.  They are the only ones who could help save our daughter from intractable epilepsy.  She is now seizure-free on her magic bullet combination of Depakote, Felbatol & Diamox.

Also, DON'T waste your time with Johns Hopkins Ketogenic Diet program.  Go to a real EMU with real epileptologists first.  Dr. Eric Kossoff treated my daughter shamefully.  I am only glad that his  closing the door on us led us to Zupanc & Marcuccilli.

We thank God every day for his healing mercies in our family and pray that you will find the same!

Re: Comprehensive list of GOOD Neuro

Just had neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix AZ. it hasn't even been a week, it was six days ago, and I'm slowly in the healing process.

I met my doctor about a year and a half ago, I had just moved to Arizona 2 years ago and had to get new prescriptions for the drugs which were way too rough on me, very tired and fuzzy. they switched me to another medication and things improved as far as side effects, but the seizures were still an issue. they brought up the idea of surgery. something I'd never have considered.

Dr Matthew Hoerth is my Neurologist, Was a fellow when I first met him there. he's now a full blown neurologist. I don't see him in the actual directory on mayo's site. it was just a couple months ago.

Dr. Richard S Zimmerman is my Neurosurgeon

Dr. Katherine H. Noe, did the neuropsych testing that helped decide on how good of an option surgery would be and the possible deficits
http://www.mayoclinic.org/bio/14101092.html

Awesome results. Was very ready for possible shortcomings from speech and memory, but am lucky to have very little from it. I'm very optimistic things will continue to improve. Still in the healing process, and am taking things very carefully as I'm recovering, but am surprised how well I'm doing so soon after.

Re: Comprehensive list of GOOD Neuro

Deep C, You are worth your weight in gold!

We didn't have a neurosurgeon in Arizona, nor ANY Neuropsychs!!!

A zillion thanks!!!

To vouch for a neuro...

Dr Vossler in Washington is outstanding.  He takes his time with every patient, always asks a ton of questions and never makes you feel "silly."  He also does research for UCB, and has been published several times.  He specializes solely in epilepsy in adults. I consider myself incredibly fortunate that I am under his care.

Peoria, IL

My son is only 2 months old, and we have only seen one neurologist so far (pediatric neurologist), Dr. Blas Zelaya in Peoria, IL. He has been wonderful, and that is coming from someone who has had very few positive experiences with doctors or specialists myself. He has shown nothing but true concern over my son and it is so wonderful to know your doctor feels that way.
